Faye & Matt
It was over their very first date, sipping cocktails at Las Iguanas (classic British first date, right?) that Faye and Matt instantly clicked. Faye had never met anyone who made her feel so at ease. "It was as thought I'd known him for years". The conversation flowed so naturally and the pair knew immediately that they'd found something golden.

Love blossomed quickly for the pair and they soon moved in over lockdown, becoming closer year after year.
Through all the happy times (becoming fur parents, buying their first home together) and the sad ones too (the loss of Faye's dad), Matt and Faye's love has been galvanised by compassion and kinship.

In each other, they've found a best friend. Someone to laugh and cry with. Someone who's love is unconditional and unwavering. Someone to watch The Simpsons with. And I think at the end of the day, that's what we all need and deserve.

The Bigger Bowl was inspired by that familiar, tender love that Faye and Matt share; it's comfy and casual, and knowing that you're loved and accepted. It's forming a little world together and being able to rely on each other.
I hope anyone reading the words is able to relate to that same feeling of warmth and security.
Faye and Matt's talented videographer, Fizzyjellyfilms did a beautiful job of laying my poem reading over their gorgeous wedding shoot. Before you press play, get your Kleenex ready, it's a bit of a tear-jerker. ...but in a good way.

Love’s in all the walks and trips
and places we have seen
Through houses we have lived in
and spaces in between.
It’s making time for date nights
during the working week
and laughing at the in-jokes
that make our love unique.
The way we speak through smiles
that say a thousand words,
and knowing that we’re understood,
and seen, and loved and heard.
It’s crying through the anguish
and toasting to good times.
It’s hope and it’s forgiveness
regardless of our crimes.
Because love is in the little things
that make our hearts feel whole
Like when you share your lifetime
And give them the bigger bowl.

The Bigger Bowl
Love is in the little things
that elevate the soul,
like when you share your ice cream,
and give me the bigger bowl.
It’s in the way you laugh with friends,
your humour and your jokes.
It’s in the way we coexist
in texts and cards and notes.
It’s in the silent moments,
preoccupied or chilled.
It’s mopping up emotions
the other one has spilled.
It’s the way I kiss your eyebrows
and the way you rub my feet.
It’s the patience that you have for me
when your limit has been reached.
